The CTEK line is an excellent choice for the Optima battery line! Yes, the Optima series does need a true AGM series smart charger in order to get the battery to accept a charge if it is ever run too low.
Does the optima battery require a special charger/maintainer. I ordered the CTEK 6v charger for this battery CTEK UC 800 Battery Charger CTEK Battery Chargers
