Since the UPS12-540MR is a high rate (thin plate) battery, it is not the best suited for a solar application. I would recommend a deep cycle VRLA battery or lithium iron phosphate. For a solid deep cycle VRLA unit I recommend taking a look at the DCS-100HIT, and for a lithium option I recommend our Iron-V LFP12-100EV series.
