No, it won't damage the motors, and the original charger would work as it's only a 15Ah increase in capacity. Your main issue, however, is that the size of the batteries typically won't fit in place of where these U1s were. So before you purchase any 12V 50Ah battery, I would greatly encourage you to check the size to make sure it's actually going to fit. Return shipping on the wrong set of wheelchair batteries is no fun for anyone.
